Battery Scientist
Jon Witt is a junior data scientist and electrochemical engineer at Recurrent. He has been a part of the company since it’s early days in 2020.
Prior to joining Recurrent, Jon completed his PhD at the University of Washington in Chemical Engineering in 2021. His research focused high temperature electrochemical conversion of carbon dioxide and water to hydrogen and carbon monoxide in solid oxide fuel cells ( link to thesis). While at the University of Washington, Jon volunteered often with K-12 students through Chemical Engineering Department, the Clean Energy Institute, or the UW Electrochemical Society to promote the joys of science! He is also particularly proud of representing his fellow academic student employees as a head steward in their union.
Jon has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University.
