How are you generating Vehicle Insights? What data do you use?

Recurrent uses machine learning models to generate the data in Vehicle Insights. Once you authenticate your vehicle, Recurrent connects directly to it to request specific data: VIN, current odometer, current state of charge, current charging status, and current range estimate. We typically make these data requests one to three times per day to build up a historical profile.

We combine your vehicle's data with observed real-world driving data from thousands of similar vehicles in the Recurrent fleet. Range estimates — including Expected Range across different temperatures and the Range in 3 Years projection — are based on this fleet-level observed performance, not your car's dashboard figures or EPA ratings. Expected Range reflects the 80th percentile of real driving performance, so it represents what a driver like you can realistically expect under normal conditions.

Your connected data specifically contributes to charge tracking and helps refine comparisons against similar vehicles over time.
